Social networks, scene of subversive activities against CubaSocial network

Havana, July 17 (Prensa Latina) Social networks are now the scene of a new campaign against Cuba, with the aim of destabilizing the country and overthrowing the revolutionary government of the island.

From these digital platforms, calls for civil disobedience are made with impunity, while news and information is distorted with the aim of fracturing unity and breaking social peace.

The day before, the Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC) reported that its specialists had identified labels that harangued Cubans with street violence to create unrest like those that occurred on July 11 and 12, 2021 in several provinces.

The analysis detected 8,190 users who generated 27,301 interactions in the last seven days.

These Internet users constitute six communities grouped around very active accounts with inorganic activity on the networks, located mainly in four countries, the United States, Venezuela, Mexico and Colombia, specified the source.

Operators from Venezuela, Mexico and Colombia stand out, depending on the location they give Twitter, but it is very likely that a not insignificant part really comes from Spain, where the label has managed to be Trending Topic .

The communication platform Dominio Cuba also recently denounced the campaign against the island in social network applications, in front of which the transnationals maintain a policy of permissiveness.

On July 11 and 12, 2021, riots and vandalism occurred in several Cuban cities, incited from abroad, amid a complex social scenario generated by the country’s economic and health situation in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. Covid-19 and the tightening of the American blockade.

This communication operation was denounced by the Cuban government, which condemned the direct involvement of senior American officials.
