MAHE organizes a national conference on young people in social change on September 17

The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is organizing the Third National Conference on Youth in Social Change on September 17 at Dr. TMA Pai Hall, Manipal with the aim of encouraging the concept of giving in youth and sensitize them to social change.

Over a thousand students from MAHE and non-MAHE institutions were expected to attend the conference which would be inaugurated by the President of Manipal Global Education Services, TV Mohandas Pai, according to a statement. Panel discussions with prominent changemakers from the development sectors including Venkat Krishnan, Principal Trustee, Indian Welfare Trust, Sanchit Jain, Co-Founder, Robin Hood Army, Jigsaya Labroo, Co-Founder, Slam Out Loud, Kuldeep Dantewadia, Co-Founder and CEO, Reap Benefit, Vineet Saraiwala, Founder and CEO, Atypical Advantage and Ashutosh Kumar, CEO, Jagriti.

MAHE President and Chairman of Manipal Education and Media Group, Ranjan R Pai said that the youth of the country are the catalysts of change and they are making a huge difference in the development of society. Through the conference, the organizers aim to encourage and develop the spirit of generosity and empathy among the students.

The conference also includes a poster presentation on various issues to promote constructive dialogue and societal change. There would also be the Manipal SevaMela (an NGO exhibition) where reputable NGOs would discuss the change they were bringing and also provide internship opportunities for students. The event would also feature a Social Change Hackathon on 14 different themes.
