Launch of the Apex Foundation to foster environmental, economic and social change

A financial services provider, Apex Group is supporting the launch of the not-for-profit Apex Foundation, thanks to a sizable gift from founder and CEO Peter Hughes.

The Apex Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit entity, entirely separate from the Apex Group structure and governed by a Board of Directors.

The Apex Foundation will drive lasting change by supporting local charitable projects in three key areas: environmental preservation, conservation and protection; women’s economic empowerment and independence; and education and social mobility.

The Apex Foundation will enable the Apex Group and its employees to have an impact consistent with its goal of “causing positive change” by supporting the raising and distribution of funds to meaningful causes. Along with his initial donation to the Apex Foundation, Peter Hughes (pictured) has also pledged to match employee contributions up to a value of $500,000 in 2023.

The Apex Group will host an inaugural ‘Purpose Beyond Service’ charity gala at the Natural History Museum in London in October, featuring 300 of the industry’s most influential leaders.

Gala costs will be covered by Apex Group and all funds raised will be distributed by the Apex Foundation to four key charities (WaterAid, Blue Marine Foundation, CAMFED and Tusk Trust).

The Apex Foundation was launched as part of Apex Group’s Impact Month, an initiative to strengthen ESG responsibility in the financial services space. ESG Impact Month aims to educate and raise awareness of ESG issues in financial services, support the flow of capital into sustainable investments, and make an immediate impact by contributing financially to charitable causes.

The Group’s support of the Apex Foundation reinforces its commitment to making a real positive impact on the world, complementing its previously announced corporate initiatives, including industry leadership by offsetting a lifetime of carbon emissions, the launch of the Women’s Accelerator Program, the creation of the FS Disruptor Forum and lasting partnerships with Cricket West Indies and Olympic triathlete Flora Duffy.

Peter Hughes, Founder and CEO of Apex Group, said: “As one of the largest financial services providers in our space, we are keenly aware of the responsibility this global platform places on us to influence the flow of capital towards causes that create a more sustainable and equitable environment and society. The goals of the Apex Foundation are aligned with my own priorities, and I look forward to working together to empower local initiatives to protect the environment, accelerate women’s economic empowerment and independence, and improve mobility. social.
