Champion harnesses social status for vintage-inspired capsule collection

After teaming up with Carrots for an exclusive SS22 release in April, Champion tapped into streetwear label Social Status for a capsule collection inspired by vintage silhouettes.

The 20-piece range includes a variety of hoodies, t-shirts, sleeveless tops, track pants and more, all available in predominantly red, black and white colourways. Taking a simple approach, several flagship offerings feature dual centered and enlarged iconography, and others simply host the Social Status branding in white lettering.

Meanwhile, pants slather identical graphics to the upper thigh, while athletic pieces opt for simpler designs with subtle branding. The standouts, however, are the Just Don Boxing Hoodie and the Just Don Track Pants, which use fighter emblems and design codes inspired by boxing uniforms.

The collaboration aims to provide its wearers with a “burning passion” to become a better version of themselves. “Inspiring future leaders, this collection is rooted in the athletic nature of Champion and the streetwear essence of Social Status,” reads a statement on the collection. “It means being active through fitness, molding and creating your best self through hard work and dedication.”

The Social Status x Champion apparel collection is now available in-store and on the Social Status website. Take a look at the collaborative capsule above.
