“On Gaming and Social Change” is an online webinar that will celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8.

Hosted by ACMI and linked to its traveling exhibition, “Code Breakers: Women in Games”, you can register for the webinar here.

It features former League of Geeks producer Lisy Kane alongside RMIT professor Larissa Hjorth and developer Caitlin Cronin and kicks off from 12:00 a.m. AEDT on Tuesday, March 8. The webinar promises to “feature some of the industry’s top video game creators and thinkers, exploring how games and interactive technologies are shaping our future.”

The event coincides with the Yarra Ranges Regional Museum’s “Code Breakers” tour between March 5-15. You can read more about the exhibition here.

“We are delighted to welcome Code Breakers to the Yarra Ranges Regional Museum,” said Deputy Mayor of Yarra Ranges, Cr Johanna Skelton. “The exhibition provides a brilliant opportunity to highlight the achievements of women in creative technologies, as well as to explore the positive social impacts of gaming and its narrative, educational and artistic potentials.”
